MINERAL INTERFACE ENGINEERING

Mineral Interface Engineering (MINE)

Understanding and engineering mineral interfaces for a sustainable future

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. My research focuses on mineral interface engineering for sustainable resource utilization, integrating molecular simulations, electrochemistry, catalysis, and advanced materials to understand and design interfacial processes across energy, construction, and critical metal recovery. My research has resulted in 39 peer-reviewed publications, including 24 publications as first- or corresponding author, and 3 granted patents.

Research Vision

My long-term goal is to establish a research program centered on mineral interface engineering, bridging sustainable construction materials and resource recovery. By understanding how mineral interfaces regulate ion transport, interfacial bonding, and chemical reactivity, I aim to develop next-generation materials and processes for low-carbon construction, circular resource utilization, and critical metal security.

Research Themes

  1. Clay-gel interfaces in sustainable construction materials
  2. Mineral interfaces for critical metal recovery
  3. Molecular simulations of interfacial processes
  4. AI-assisted materials and process design
